Connect other apps

What this is: short steps for Cursor, Codex, Gemini and any app that speaks MCP. Who it is for: people whose app is not ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, Microsoft Copilot or GitHub Copilot.

The server address is https://ai.<brand>/mcp. Tools and what they do are on the overview.

Cursor

Who: the Cursor docs do not name a plan. 1. Open your MCP settings file and add:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "bb": { "url": "https://ai.<brand>/mcp" }
  }
}
2. Cursor shows the server in its MCP list. Choose to sign in, sign in with your company account and choose Allow. 3. Disconnect: remove the entry, or remove it from Cursor's MCP list under Customize.

If sign-in does not work, use a personal access token with "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <token>" }. Cursor may still try browser sign-in first.

Codex (OpenAI)

Who: the Codex page does not name a plan. 1. Run in your terminal:

codex mcp add bb --url https://ai.<brand>/mcp
codex mcp login bb
2. A browser opens. Sign in and choose Allow. On a machine without a browser add --no-browser to the login command, open the printed link elsewhere, and paste the full address you land on back into the terminal. 3. With a personal token instead, set bearer_token_env_var for the server in config.toml and put the token in that environment variable. 4. Disconnect: remove the bb entry in config.toml. Codex's page does not describe a logout command.

Gemini

  • Gemini CLI. Google is replacing Gemini CLI with Antigravity CLI for Google AI Pro, Ultra and free personal users (from 2026-06-18). Google's announcement says paid Enterprise licences and paid developer keys are not affected. We have not checked Antigravity's MCP settings. If you still use Gemini CLI, add this to its settings file:
    { "mcpServers": { "bb": { "httpUrl": "https://ai.<brand>/mcp" } } }

    Start gemini. A browser opens for sign-in. If not, type /mcp auth bb. To disconnect, remove the entry.
  • Gemini app (consumer). Settings, Connected Apps, Custom apps, Add a custom app. Google limits this to personal accounts, age 18 or over, in the US, in English. Work accounts are not supported yet. Remove it under Connected Apps.
  • Gemini Enterprise. An admin adds it under Manage team, Connected apps, Add MCP Server. Google asks for a client ID and key, and uses its own return address, which Bill & Ben now accepts for clients that have a key. Ask the operator to register a client for you and give you its ID and key. Not yet proven with Google.

Any app that accepts a header (personal access token)

Use this for apps that cannot sign in through a browser (for example Cline, Continue, Zed, Goose, LibreChat, Open WebUI), when the app lets you add a remote MCP server with a header.

  1. Create a token on https://ai.<brand>/tokens (steps are on the overview).
  2. Add a remote MCP server. Type: Streamable HTTP (sometimes called "HTTP"). Do not choose SSE.
  3. Address: https://ai.<brand>/mcp.
  4. Header name Authorization, value Bearer <your token>.
  5. Ask: "What is my quota?" You should get your limits back.
  6. Disconnect: remove the server in the app, then Revoke the token on the tokens page.

Apps that only know the OpenAI chat format can use https://ai.<brand>/v1 instead, see the overview.

If it goes wrong

You see What to do
A 401 or "unauthorized" Your token is wrong, expired (90 days) or revoked. Create a new one.
A 405 or "method not allowed" for GET Normal. Bill & Ben only answers POST. Make sure the app uses Streamable HTTP, not SSE.
Sign-in ends on a return-address error The app's return address is not on Bill & Ben's list. Use a personal token and tell your admin.
Sign-in page says Not on your organisation's list Your admin must add you.
"your organisation has not given you gateway access" Ask for gateway.connect.
